SUMMARY OF OUR SERVICES:

We generally run two-day sales that fall on either Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday. Larger estates may require a three-day sale, however.

All costs to run a sale come out of our commission, and this  reasonable fee for conducting your sale isn't applied until the end of the sale.

We obtain all necessary permits, secure liability insurance and advertise thoroughly.

We utilize our large mailing list, Iron Horse Antiques' mailing list (if appropriate) and target appropriate collectors and collectors groups.

All items are priced carefully and researched prior, if necessary. We strive to earn our clients as much money as possible, while also assuring the items are priced reasonably enough to move.

We conduct clean and organized sales, grouping like items together and displaying items in a way that makes them as appealing as possible. 

There is one entrance and one exit at all of our sales. We only allow so many customers in at one time for insurance / safety / security purposes. 

We do not discount on the first day of sale. We do offer customers the opportunity to submit bids for higher priced items. At the end of day one, we will go over the day's sales with you, discuss any submitted bids with you, and determine what kind of discounting will be offered, if any, for the last day of sale.

In addition to two cashiers, we staff at least one estate sale professional on each floor of your home (how many depends on size of home) and one in the garage.  

We are happy to arrange for a charity pickup of your choice after sale's end for a 501(c)3  tax write off.

We go through great lengths to get traffic to your sale AND we carefully price your items so they are appealing to both you and our customers - Our goal is to sell the entire estate while ALSO getting you the most money we can for your items!

We're happy to work with your realtor in spreading the word! Provide us with flyers and we'll make them available at our checkout table. We'll also mention it on our website.

Additionally, we're happy to field questions about your home during the sale - please provide us with the necessary information. 

DID YOU KNOW?

• Items frequently sell for more money at estate sales than garage sales.

• Estate sales are held throughout the year - they are NOT seasonal. 

• We accept credit and debit cards, therefore assuring more sales for you! We have yet to attend a single garage sale that accepts credit cards and/or debit cards! We also take care of those card processing fees for you!

• Be careful what you throw out while considering a sale. People buy half used bottles of soap and other cleaning products, for example... and those small items can really add up dollar-wise for you!

• We can provide 15 professional, easy-to-read signs that can be placed at every conceivable intersection! This means more traffic to your sale! 

Rest assured:

• We have liability insurance.

• We obtain any necessary permits, follow local sign ordinances and post any parking restrictions.

• Our outstanding team consists of antiques dealers, appraisers, collectors, and people with retail sales and display experience! 

• We do not release your street address until 24 hours before the sale.

• We physically touch every item that is for sale to determine things like age and condition, whether further research is needed, and to assure we properly price.

• Only cashier(s) come into contact with your money... and we use receipt books!
  

• You are in control of discounting! We do not discount on the first day of sale. At the end of day 1, we will go over the sales with you and discuss a plan for day 2.
